A New Way to Practice-CardioGolf™ TV includes golf-specific workout routines and swing drills to help golfers of all levels improve their swing technique and get a great workout at the same time.

CardioGolf™ TV is a virtual golf and fitness platform packed with a variety of workouts to help golfers, of all levels, improve their golf games and get a great workout at the same time.

Professional golfers know the importance of athletic development for golf. As a recreational golfer, you may not have the time to train like an elite athlete, but by simply adding a few swing drills into your daily routine, you can dramatically improve your game. And you don’t have to go to the golf course or driving range, you can do these exercises at home with by watching CardioGolf™ TV.

'Karen Jansen and the CardioGolf platform have been a tremendous support for my game and have made me a better player. I have brought my index down from a 17 to a 12 since I began working with the CG team. The workouts are awesome and Karen's coaching allows me to really focus on what I need to be working on. It has become a regular piece of not only my game, but my overall fitness program as well,'

Ronnie Rubin-Bethesda, MD

Master LPGA Professional and NASM Certified Personal Trainer Karen Palacios-Jansen has developed a system of working out to help golfers of all levels improve their golf swings and fitness at the same time. CardioGolf™ TV has hundreds of workout videos and tips to help you improve your golf game and fitness at the same time. Using the CardioGolf™ Slope and Shortee Club, Karen takes you through a collection of exercises and drills to improve your game and get a great workout at the same time.

A New Way to Practice At-Home- The CardioGolf™ TV includes golf-specific workout routines and swing drills to help golfers, of all levels, improve their swing technique and get a great workout at the same time and no ball is required. You can do all the workouts in the comfort of your home.

Maximize Your Performance-To maximize your golf performance, the golf athlete needs to do a variety of different exercises and workouts to build overall fitness. There are seven physical performance factors that are crucial to every golf-conditioning program: posture, balance, mobility, stability, power, coordination, and endurance. I incorporate all these elements into CardioGolf™ TV so that you, not only get a great workout, but also improve your swing technique.

The ideal way to train for golf is using a technique called Periodization. Periodization is the process of varying a training program at regular time intervals to bring about optimal gains in physical performance. Periodization is a fancy word for seasonal training. In other words, you need to mix it up and do a variety of exercises during the year.

Your workouts should fit the season you are in. Even if you play golf all year round, you still need to vary your workouts so not to plateau. In order to build strength, you need to constantly push yourself by increasing intensity and resistance. But you also need to allow your body periods of rest to recover, so you don’t always want to be doing intense workouts. I design all CardioGolf™ workouts to maximize golf performance.

'The CardioGolf TV subscription was extremely beneficial for my game amidst the coronavirus. Staying at home towards the beginning of this pandemic and following the videos directed by Karen was super helpful and the Shortee Club was perfect for indoor learning. This course has trimmed my score significantly. As a 20-year-old there was a big crave for golf during the coronavirus, so this course has put me ahead of that curve. I would recommend it to any age group. Karen does a great job providing you with tips and tricks to improve your game significantly.'

James Jakubowski-Raliegh, NC

The CardioGolf™ Slope

Rarely, if ever, do you have a flat lie on the golf course, so it is important to practice your swing on sloping lies to develop feel and stability. The CardioGolf ‘Slope’ is curved like a fairway slope. You can vary the angle you place your foot to practice various sloping lies.

A Note from Karen-Top 50 Golf-Fitness Professional-I developed the CardioGolf™ Slope to help golfers practice uphill and downhill lies, but it is also a great tool for exercise. You can do a variety of traditional low-impact exercises as well as strength, balance, core and even upper body exercises.

According to studies, surfaces like concrete and treadmills present us with essentially simple ways to move. The continual flat surface creates repetitive motions in our joints and muscles, so movement patterns become locked into one direction.

We neglect wider ranges of motion that would happen on unstable surfaces. Whereas walking on uneven ground continually shifts our center of gravity, meaning we have to work harder to continually come back to balance in the midline, and this has a deeper engagement through the core and the whole of our fascial, muscle and skeletal systems.

The Difference

The difference between a standard flat fitness step and my CardioGolf™ Slope is the curvature of the platform. You almost never have a completely flat lie on the golf course, whether you are walking on the fairway or hitting a shot, so it is important to rehearse swinging on a sloping lie as well as walking on a sloped surface.

In the CardioGolf™ Fitness System, we use the CardioGolf™ Slope to do swing drills, but also we use it to do low impact cardio, strength, balance exercises.

'CardioGolf is the only golf-fitness workout that I have seen that is designed to train muscles and ingrain correct swing mechanics. This is especially beneficial for golfers during the cold winter months.'

Sue Gintar, LPGA Tour Player and Class A Professional

  • The CardioGolf™ Slope can be used to improve fitness and is not just for golfers.
  • The Slope can be used for low-impact cardio, strength and balance exercises.
  • The Slope can be used to rehearse uphill and downhill lies and to do golf-specific drills.
  • The Slope can be used to do step aerobics and low impact exercises. According to studies, participating in a 60-minute step aerobic class has been comparable to jogging 6 to 7 miles.
  • The Slope can be used to do strength and weight-bearing exercises. Studies show that weight-bearing exercises increase bone mass and bone density.
  • The curvature of the Slope helps build balance and core strength. Studies show that walking on uneven ground continually shifts our center of gravity, meaning we have to work harder to continually come back to balance in the midline, and this has a deeper engagement through the core and the whole of our fascial, muscle and skeletal systems.

'CardioGolf is a great learning tool. It frees the golfer up from worrying what the golf ball is doing and helps them focus on the body motion. Of course, good cardio.'

Julie Brown, LPGA Teaching Professional

'I have been using CardioGolf in conjunction with golf lessons with my local pro. Since working with CardioGolf I am hitting farther and straighter than ever by a long shot.'

- David MacPhail, South Elgin, Il

'I am very impressed with your unique approach to golf fitness.'

John Palmer, Lake Mary, Fl.

In CardioGolf™ Fitness System, we use the Shortee Training Club to do exercises and swing drills. The club is short for the following reasons:
  • The Shortee Club is easy to swing indoors without hitting the walls or ceilings.
  • Use the Shortee Club to warm up at golf courses that don’t have practice range.
  • Carry the Shortee Club in your suitcase when you travel.
  • The clubhead is closer to your hands, so it is easy to monitor the clubface and learn how to square the face at impact.
  • Since you are not hitting balls with the Shortee Club, there is no judgment of where the ball goes, so you can work on your technique without getting frustrated.
  • The Shortee Club is lighter than a regular club, so you can learn to swing the club faster to develop clubhead speed.

'I want to thank you for taking my game to a higher level! I have taken lesson for years, but it wasn’t until I attended one of your CardioGolf clinics that I gained a good understanding of the the golf swing.'

And you don’t have to go to the golf course or driving range, you can do these exercises at home with your own 'Shortee' Club!
Making practice swings will not only tone your muscle and burn some calories, but the act of swinging over and over again can help you improve your swing technique and improve muscular endurance. Our practice swings are usually smoother, longer and more on-plane with better tempo than our real swings. As you make practice swings, you can focus on making certain motions to improve technique such as making a fuller shoulder turn, keeping your spine angle throughout the swing and shifting your weight correctly. As you make practice swings, you can swing faster than you usually do to help you get used to swinging faster to improve clubhead speed. As you make practice swings, you can work on certain moves in your swing without worrying where the ball is going. The 23″ ‘Shortee’ Club is great for indoor swing training and off-season conditioning. My friends at GolfGym were inspired by my Cardiogolf program and designed ‘Shortee’ Club for my students to practice indoors just like I do in Cardiogolf.
The ‘Shortee’ clubface is closer to your hands, so it is easy to monitor the clubface and learn how to square the face at impact.A few things to think about while you are making your practice swings:
  • Look down at where a ball would be and try to simulate hitting a ball as much as possible
  • Work on your swing fundamentals. Monitor your posture, alignment, ball position and grip to make sure they are correct
  • Keep your head level throughout your swing
  • Complete each practice swing by holding your finish for a moment, as if you were watching your ball fly down the fairway
  • Imagine the perfect golf shot as you swing
  • Finish in balance
  • Start each swing from the beginning; don’t swing back and forth continuously
  • Make each swing as if you were hitting a real shot
